Hypericum Hidcote

St. John's wort Hidcote is a semi-evergreen shrub that grows to about 1 m in height, with a spreading, dense, upright shoot system. Its shoots are slender and graceful, and its leaves are dark green, narrow and lance-shaped. Large yellow flowers bloom throughout the summer. The fruits are oval, at first greenish-red, later turning red. It prefers a partially sunny, semi-shaded spot and well-structured, nutrient-rich soil. Its water need is moderate. It is an excellent choice as a background plant for perennial beds and shrub groups.
